Maureen Caspers, originally from San Antonio, Texas, began her training at Ballet Arts School under the direction of Judith Gani and Tricia Haddad. In Texas, she performed with San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet in several classical and contemporary ballet works. Maureen continued her dance education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, where she earned a BFA in Ballet and BA in history. At TCU, Maureen had the privilege of studying under Elizabeth Gillaspy and Li-Chou Cheng, in addition the honor of working with such esteemed choreographers as Douglas Becker and Fernando Bujones. In Fort Worth, Maureen has also danced professionally with Ballet Concerto performing in Carmen. Maureen’s choreographic work with/in was chosen by the TCU faculty to be performed at the Southwest Regional Conference of ACDFA, where it was performed in both the adjudicated and gala concerts. Upon graduation Maureen’s work was performed at the Glenda Brown Choreography Project in Kansas City. Since 2005, Maureen continues to pursue dance and choreography in Chicago. Her most recent works were featured in Dance Chicago’s New Moves Concert in 2005 and again in 2007. In the spring of 2007, she and fellow dancer Meghann Mueller founded Project606 Dance, which has performed at several Chicago events. In her spare time, Maureen teaches kickboxing and trains for marathons.

 

Meghann Mueller, originally from the Chicago area, began her early dance training at the Evanston School of Ballet under Kerry Hubata, Debbie Kristofek-Smith and Laura Wade. She continued her training in ballet at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts and the Lou Conte Dance Studio. She enjoyed performing at Northwestern University with the Evanston School of Ballet as well as at the Schubert Theatre with Ballet Chicago. Meghann also performed several classical and contemporary works at a number of Chicago dance events, including Dance Chicago and Columbia College’s Young Artists’ Showcase. During summers, Meghann studied with the Joffrey Ballet and also danced on scholarship with the Milwaukee Ballet. She continued her dance education at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. At TCU, she had the opportunity to perform works by TCU faculty members as well as by several guest artists including Elizabeth Johnson, Dana Nicolay, and TCU Choreographer in Residence Fernando Bujones. Before she graduated from TCU (magna cum laude with a BFA in Dance and a BA in History) in 2006, Meghann’s work Narrow Anguish was performed at the American College Dance Festival in the adjudicated concert. Since graduation, Meghann has pursued both performance and choreography in Chicago. In the spring of 2007, Meghann and former classmate Maureen Caspers formed Project606 Dance which has since been active in the Chicago arts community, performing at a number of events including Dance Chicago. While not dancing and choreographing, Meghann teaches aspiring dancers throughout the Chicago area.
